Towards the end of May, I had the opportunity to attend one of the leading cybersecurity conferences in Central Europe, Qubit Conference Prague 2025.
This event was held from May 26-28, 2025, at the elegant OREA Hotel Pyramida in Prague and attracted professionals from the corporate sector, government administration, and academia. As a junior in cybersecurity, I was very curious about what I would gain from this event. Let's take a look at a few key observations from the conference, what interested me, what surprised me, and what I would like to see changed in the future.
The conference program was packed with speakers from all over the world, and the event was thematically divided into two main streams: technical and executive. This allowed each participant to choose lectures according to their professional focus and interests. Personally, I was most interested in the lectures on leadership in technology and innovation by Ondrej Krehel. I was also interested in other presentations focused on the integration of artificial intelligence with cybersecurity.
The entire conference was held in English, which I personally consider a big plus, not only for expanding professional terminology (which is often lacking in Czech) but also considering the international lineup of guests and speakers. The language barrier was not an obstacle; on the contrary, it contributed to a professional and open atmosphere. Regarding the selection of speakers, I would personally welcome some changes to the lineup in the future, as some speakers did not have a sufficient level of expertise, and their presentations were of a lower standard than others.
The overall organization of the conference was very good. Registration and navigating the venue went smoothly, the program was well-structured, and the schedule was adhered to, with some minor exceptions. There was a power outage during the conference, which disrupted the entire schedule for the first day. Everything was resolved within a few tens of minutes, and the program could continue without issues, albeit with a slight delay.
The conference also featured quality catering, offering plenty of refreshments throughout the day, including coffee, drinks, snacks, and a tasty lunch. The networking dinner was also a very pleasant experience, providing a great space for informal meetings with speakers and other professionals in the field. I had the opportunity to talk with them about technical topics as well as career paths, motivation, and real-world practical experiences. Personally, I found the break between the end of the last lecture and the start of the networking dinner too long; some guests did not attend the dinner at all due to this delay.
For me personally, attending Qubit was a huge motivation for my further development in the field. I gained a lot of new knowledge, inspiration, and specific tips for further study and professional growth. The opportunity to follow the latest trends in areas like threat intelligence, cloud security, and security monitoring topics that affect every modern organization today was also a great benefit.
Many of these topics also resonate with the program of our autumn conference, CYB3R DAYS, where, in addition to traditional lectures, we also focus on hands-on segments like Hack&Build and a practically-oriented OT Village. Issues such as security monitoring or Active Directory vulnerability analysis will be explored there in even greater depth, and I am personally already looking forward to it.
I am really glad I had the opportunity to attend the Qubit Conference. It was not only a great experience for me but, above all, a significant dose of inspiration that I am taking with me into my future work and personal development in cybersecurity.
And it definitely doesn't end there! Some topics indeed deserve even deeper discussion. Perhaps at CYB3R DAYS, which awaits me in September. I will definitely write to you about those next time!
